—James 5:13

Prayer and Praise

We invite you to join us in prayer for our ministry activities and outreaches.
Thank you for bringing our requests before the Lord.

Sunday 28 – Updates for our Beyond Suffering curriculum have reached another stage of editing. Praise God for the journey so far and ask him to continue to guide the process so that the course materials will well-inform the hearts and minds of students around the world.

Monday 29 – Pray for more volunteers for our North Carolina Warrior Getaway next month so that the getaway can be a safe place for service men and women and their families to find fellowship and hope in Christ. Ask God to prepare the hearts of all who will attend so healing can begin for hurting families.

Tuesday 30 – As the semester ends soon, pray for our Respite at Home interns as they approach the end of their time with the families they have served. Ask God to allow them to become culture changers as they carry with them a deeper respect and appreciation for families living with disability. May God bless them in their efforts to apply what they have learned through Respite at Home!

Wednesday 1 – The three-day national disability ministry conference Disability and the Church begins today. Ask God to shape his church through the conversations and presentations so that more Christians understand the truths of 1 Corinthians 12:22, “On the contrary, those parts of the body that are weaker are indispensable” (CSB). Pray for the Joni and Friends staff members who are part of the conference.

Thursday 2 – Tomorrow our New England office will host a Night to Ignite event, inviting attendees to celebrate God’s work through this local office and to further support the ministry’s presence throughout New England. Pray for this event to ignite a passion for all God’s children and to spread hope through hardship.

Friday 3 – Pray for families to come to know Christ through our Arizona Halftime Respite tonight. Ask God to raise up new churches to host Halftime Respite Programs to better meet the practical needs of more families impacted by disability.

Saturday 4 – Pray for our Wheels for the World distribution in Argentina. As these new mobility devices provide opportunities for families to participate more fully in the community, pray for churches to welcome them with open arms.

Sunday 5 – Praise God for the jobs around the ministry that have recently been filled. Ask God to continue to bring qualified candidates to fill the open positions at Joni and Friends.

Monday 6 – As we begin the busy event season, pray for Joni and Friends staff, especially program staff planning our retreats and getaways. Ask God to give good health and extra stamina for the busy weeks and months ahead.

Tuesday 7 – Pray for the volunteers who serve at our International Family Retreats. We appreciate having volunteers from the hosting country as well as from nearby countries and the United States. May God use these international events to fill his house!

Wednesday 8 – Ask God to increase the visibility of our internship opportunities among young people with disabilities. Pray that Joni and Friends could help launch young people from diverse backgrounds into many different job fields.

Thursday 9 – As Joni celebrates 42 years of radio broadcasts this month, praise God for the role of Joni’s radio programs around the world! Pray especially for the listeners who hear her words translated into Chinese, Romanian, Ukrainian, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Friday 10 – Ask God to capture the hearts and minds of the inmate volunteers in our Wheels for the World prison restoration centers. Pray that knowledge of the positive difference they are making around the world will encourage them toward other positive change.

Saturday 11 – Today at the Irresistible Church Training in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, attendees will have the opportunity to attend workshops on the topics of starting a disability ministry, autism awareness, holistic care of families affected by disability, and spiritual care and curriculum adaptation. Pray for church leaders and lay persons to come away with new insights and ideas to strengthen their ministry to and with people living with disabilities.
